Human Resources Specialist

Job Summary:

The Human Resources Specialist – Korea is responsible for daily HR operations and administration for the Korea office.

This role covers hands-on duties including employee administration, payroll coordination, attendance and leave, local compliance, recruitment support, and HR systems. The position will work closely with employees, managers, external vendors, and the Regional HR team to ensure smooth and compliant HR operations.

Responsibilities:

HR Operations and Administration

  • Manage employee onboarding, employment changes, leave, and offboarding
  • Prepare employment contracts, letters, certificates, and other HR documents
  • Maintain accurate employee records and HR data
  • Respond to employees’ questions regarding HR policies, benefits, payroll, attendance, and leave
  • Prepare employee information and HR reports when required

Payroll, Benefits and Compliance

  • Coordinate monthly payroll with the local payroll vendor and review payroll information for accuracy
  • Administer employee benefits, social insurance, health examinations, and other local programs
  • Maintain attendance, working-hours, overtime, holiday, and leave records
  • Support year-end tax settlement and other payroll-related administration
  • Ensure HR administration follows Korean employment regulations and local practices
  • Coordinate labor inspections, statutory requests, and HR-related audits when required

Recruitment and Employee Support

  • Coordinate recruitment for junior, administrative, and frontline positions in Korea
  • Support job postings, candidate screening, interview arrangements, offer preparation, and onboarding
  • Provide initial support for routine employee matters and escalate complex cases to the Regional HR Manager

SAP SuccessFactors and Regional Support

  • Act as the local SAP SuccessFactors Super User for Korea
  • Maintain employee data and support the effective use of SAP SuccessFactors
  • Assist with system testing, data validation, mass data uploads, and process improvements
  • Provide SAP data-entry and administrative support for Taiwan when required
  • Assist with other regional HR projects and activities as needed

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field is preferred
  • Minimum 1-3 years of HR Generalist or HR Operations experience in South Korea
  • Good working knowledge of South Korean employment regulations, payroll, social insurance, attendance and leave administration 
  • Experience in coodinating with payroll providers or other HR vendors
  • Hand-on experience in using SAP SuccessFactors is required 
  • Fluent Korean and working-level English. Mandarin is an advantange but not required
